$38,824: THE DOLLARS THAT INNER FIRE YOGA’S COMMUNITY HAVE RAISED TO DATE FOR CHARITY!

  • At the end of 2011, Inner Fire Yoga matched the 2011 Introductory class donations ($507) and contributed $1000 to our charity partner Domestic Abuse Intervention Services. In addition Inner Fire contributed to the following charities in honor of the abundance of our community: Middleton Outreach Ministries: $1,000, A Glimmer of Hope: $1,000, Second Harvest Foodbank of S. WI: $500. This brings our total contributions to charity to $38,824! Thanks to our everyone in our community who make it possible to share the abundance.
  • $782 was donated to Domestic Abuse Intervention Services! The funds were raised during our annual Open House, Saturday, Oct. 8. Domestic Abuse Intervention Services empowers those affected by domestic violence and advocate for social change through support, education, and outreach. You can see Marit’s letter to DAIS, here.
  • $2,852 donated to A Glimmer of Hope. The funds were raised to help those suffering in the tragedy that continues to unfold in East Africa. Inner Fire Yoga matched community donations of $1,010 — dollar for dollar. We also gave an additional $832 of class and retail sales raised on Saturday, August 27th.
  • $3,400 donated to Domestic Abuse Intervention Services of Dane County, May 2011. The funds were raised during Inner Fire Yoga’s Abundance Celebration and Raffle to Give Back, May 7, 2011. Domestic Abuse Intervention Services empowers those affected by domestic violence and advocate for social change through support, education, and outreach. Marit’s letter to DAIS.

  • Northern Japan Earthquake Relief $1204, donated to benefit the people of Japan for earthquake relief, April 2011. These funds resulted from a weekend long fund raiser where Inner Fire Yoga matched student donations. Here is the letter we sent with the donation.
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of S. WI $100, from donations of students for intro to yoga classes. (12/30/10)
  • Partner in Health, for Haiti relief, $100 from donations of students for intro to yoga classes. (12/30/10)
  • Middleton Outreach Ministries, $150, from donations of students for the intro to yoga classes plus matching funds from Inner Fire Yoga. (12/30/10)
  • A Glimmer of Hope, $1,093; $93 from the April Silent Auction proceeds and $1,000 from Inner Fire Yoga. (12/30/10)
  • $1568.05 donated to Headrush, October 2010. These funds were raised during the our annual Open House. Headrush’s mission is to significantly improve the future of Brain Tumor research, treatment, and survivorship.
  • $1832 donated to Middleton Outreach Ministries (“M.O.M.”), June 2010. These funds were raised from the Inner Fire Yoga Abundance Celebration Silent Auction in May 2010, and combined with all donations made in the first half of 2010 at the Intro to Yoga classes. “M.O.M.” helps neighbors in need throughout the Middleton/West Madison area by giving food and clothing, and by providing emergency financial assistance to cover housing, medical and other life needs.
  • $1443 donated to A Glimmer of Hope Foundation, June 2010. These funds were raised from the Inner Fire Yoga Abundance Celebration Silent Auction in May 2010. A Glimmer of Hope’s mission is to help the rural poor of Ethiopia lift themselves out of poverty yet it understands the best way to achieve this is to operate entrepreneurially and expect results from its social investments. Inner Fire Yoga’s Owner/Director Marit Sathrum chose this organization in honor of her daughter, Ayanna, who was born in Ethiopia (2005).
  • $5,592 donated to benefit the people of Haiti for earthquake relief, January 2010. These funds resulted from a weekend long fund raiser where Inner Fire Yoga matched student donations. The money was donated to Partners in Health..
  • $3,352 donated to The Family Centers Inc. of Dane County December 2009. These funds were raised at our silent auction held during our April 2009 Abundance Celebration. The Family Centers Inc. is a nonprofit collaborative venture of agencies that actively promotes the wellbeing of Dane County’s vulnerable children and families.
  • $1,100 donated to A Glimmer of Hope Foundation, December 2009. These funds were raised from donations made at the Intro to Yoga classes in 2009.   • $480 donated to Trees for the Future in Dec. 29th, 2008. Inner Fire Yoga® charges $4 for a bottle of water sold in a plastic bottle. To offset the environmental impact, we donate $2 per bottle of water sold to Trees for the Future. This donation is for all of the bottles of water sold in 2008.
  • $210 donated to Dresses that Heal, Dec. 30th, 2008 – 10% of sales of One Month Unlmited packages during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October 2008.
  • $620 donated to The Red Cross of S. WI for flood relief on Dec. 30th, 2008 – all donations taken from the Intro to Yoga classes from July through December 2008.
  • $632 donated to Heifer International on 08/20/2008. These proceeds were from the summer POWER FLOW YOGA FOR TEENS class – the teens chose to donate the proceeds of their special class to Heifer International. In an effort to spread the goodwill worldwide, three projects were the recipients including the Sustainable Community Development Project in Nepal, the Promotion of Food Sovereignty Project in Honduras, and the Eastern Uganda Umbrella Project.
  • $688.50 donated to Dresses that Heal,"combining fashion with compassion" by raising funds and awareness to fight breast cancer, on 08/20/2008. The proceeds were from the INTRO TO YOGA donation-based classes (Jan.-June 2008) and from Inner Fire Yoga®‘s April Abundance Celebration.
  • $688.50 donated to The Rainbow Project , helping young children and families in stress in Madison, on 08/20/2008. The proceeds were from the INTRO TO YOGA donation-based classes (Jan.-June 2008) and proceeds from Inner Fire Yoga®‘s April Abundance Celebration.
  • $659 donated to Community Action Coalition on 12/30/07 from the INTRO TO YOGA donation-based classes (July-Dec. 2007) and proceeds from Thanksgiving sales.
  • Donated $1400 to Second Harvest Food Bank of S. WI ($845 from our INTRO TO YOGA classes from Jan. through July 2007 plus $555 from our April Celebration – half of which was matched by IFY)
  • Donated $173 to the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County (from the Kid’s Yoga classes this summer – IFY matched the donations) October 2007.
  • Donated $250 to The Global Fund in honor of The Global Yoga Mala (donations plus 10% of sales during TGYM weekend)
  • Donated $880 to Community Shares of Wisconsin in December 2006.  This donation was from our INTRO TO YOGA DONATION classes in the autumn, as well as money raised from our 4th Anniversary raffle in October. Thank you Inner Fire Yoga students!
  • Donated $250 to the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County (from Thanksgiving Weekend Sales) January 2005.
  • $1,118 raised for Karma for Katrina by Inner Fire Yoga students!
    Karma for Katrina was a city-wide yoga studio effort to raise funds for hurricane victims. Benefits went to America’s Second Harvest and the American Red Cross.
  • INNER FIRE YOGA® students raised $2,707 for tsunami relief in Feb 2005. Donations were made to Sarvodaya USA and International Medical Corps.
