Front Desk Receptionist - WestAs a life-time Wisconsinite, My husband, Tim, and I have made our home in Madison for over 25 years. Ten years ago, when my employer offered to bring in a yoga teacher for lunch-time Yoga, I took advantage of the wonderful opportunity! I found the break to be extremely helpful. It not only gave me some much-needed physical and mental attention, but we had a lot of fun doing it. What a great way to be able to shut-down an over-active mind for an hour. It really made a difference with the aches I was feeling in my hips after the long walks, too.
I never call myself an athlete. I may not have great coordination or strength, but I LOVE activities that are fun and allow me to burn off excess energy. I love playing outside - hiking, biking, paddling, skiing. I have participated in a dozen half-marathons, usually coming in last.
I was new to Hot Yoga, but I was hooked after the first (ok maybe second) class. “Finding time” in my day for Yoga is the hardest part, but once I make myself a priority, I MAKE that time. I love that I have been able to continue Yoga practice into retirement through finding Inner Fire Yoga.
I always leave a yoga class feeling stronger and more relaxed at the same time. It makes me happy to learn something new with every practice – maybe it’s correcting a pose or moving deeper into a favorite one. I love the teachers’ assists helping with both of these!
