Inner Fire Yoga Receptionist

Living above a yoga studio might sound like a cliché, but it’s how I discovered my love for yoga. In college, I took a yoga class for credit and, somehow, I almost failed it—who fails a one-credit yoga class? At the time, I struggled to keep up and felt like I didn’t belong because I couldn’t hit the poses perfectly. That experience stuck with me and kept me away from yoga for years. But when I found myself living above the Inner Fire Yoga studio, I decided to give it another try on a whim—and it completely changed how I see yoga, strength, and peace.

I love yoga because it allows you to connect with yourself in whatever way you need. Some days, I might hit a new pose or complete a sequence with pride. Other days, I might need to rest longer or pause because my body and brain aren’t in sync. Either way, the teachers and staff at Inner Fire Yoga have always encouraged, nurtured, and provided space for me to be...me. I leave every class realigned with myself and in touch with my feelings—time I truly cherish.

Yoga has taught me to embrace my body, let go of perfection, and approach challenges with confidence. It’s helped me find calm in the chaos of everyday life and a sense of connection, both to myself and to the incredible community at Inner Fire Yoga.

When I’m not at Inner Fire Yoga, I enjoy reading, skating or coaching with Madison Roller Derby, and spending time with my dog Wisconsin, Wisci for short. I’m excited to be part of this community again and can’t wait to welcome you into the studio!
