Inner Fire Yogi since November 2022
My story with Inner Fire Yoga started two years ago. I started incorporating yoga into my weekly routine to help me on the Ultimate field and with mobility at work. As a land surveyor, most of my days are spent by myself, so yoga was also a way to be around more people and good people will always add value to life!
Over several months of committing to a routine, I noticed a significant increase in my range of motion and strength in positions that were once hard to maintain. This strength paid off in February of last year, when I was hit by a car going about 20 mph. I walked away from the incident with only bruising and swelling. I believe the strength and flexibility I gained while doing yoga minimized the damage to my leg. Yoga helped me get back to my normal activities rather quickly—I started practicing yoga the following day, returned to work by doing stream crossing five days later, and started playing Ultimate two weeks later. Maybe it wasn’t the wisest decision, but it is me, so meh.
I now try to practice six days a week at Inner Fire Yoga. It has added more to my life than I originally sought to. Not only has it strengthened my flexibility and balance, but it also helped me gain more of a sense of calm. Finally, it has been a great community to be a part of, filled with many great people—a very critical piece to enjoying life!
